i know i already posted about cash passing away, but jared sent this pic of cash and his brother and i just had to post it. i could not believe how much BIGGER he ended up getting! holy cow!! he is a HORSE!!
not a ton going on in the carter house this week. matt is closing several nights at the store, but that works out well because i am busy this week with a couple of projects that i received last week, so i get crackin' on those once scout goes to bed around 7:00. matt's day off is saturday this week, so YAY! angela was here this past weekend and we had a BLAST-O-RAMA! she is attending some meetings in Richmond, and will probably come back on Friday before she leaves for home on Saturday, so we are looking forward to being with her again! wheee!
american idol. wow. i'm glad it's back on...what fun! the guy last night with the beard and long hair. yeah, he is going to be my favorite, i think.
i started myfooddiary.com about 3 weeks ago. so far, i have lost 4 lbs! yay! i can't believe how easy it has been. it's amazing how logging your food intake makes you realize how much unnecessary things you eat. my main problem is portion control, so it has really helped me in that area. i haven't gotten into a regular exercise routine yet, though. although, i try to get out and walk everyday with scout, but it's just a "walk"...not a "power walk". i get distracted by walking into starbuck's and getting a non-fat latte with gingerbread syrup. yeaaaah, that's not something you generally do when you "exercise", huh? haha! so, only 8 more lbs to go until i'm at my pre-preggo weight. my goal is to do it by march 5, scout's bday! oh law! ha!
well, that's all for now...
peace out.
i'm still trying to catch the blog up on the christmas happenings, so here are some pics...thanks to regina and marcio for the pics! our camera is still in the shop! :(
we woke up on christmas morning at ralph + regina's. they cooked a killer breakfast. if you look close, you can still see some oatmeal in scout's mouth...HA!
scout and her poppa...
stocking time! marcio said, "oh, these are cool. i have never seen one except in the movies!" whaaaa? no stockings for christmas!? poor marcio! haha!
scout racked up. here she is opening a "fun house" from auntie ange. she LOVES it!
after the christmas morning happenings concluded, we headed to anderson to spend the rest o' the day with ma + papa and the whole carter clan! it was a blast, as always!here's scout hanging out with her 2nd cousin, daniel, and 2nd cousin-in-law, danielle.
pop, me, and marcio. we really were having a killer time...we're just not showing it at this particular moment. haha!
stephanie (cousin) and david (cousin. stephanie lives and works in atlanta. david just finished up one too many semesters at the citadel and will be going back to his first true love, anderson university, this semester! go david!
after christmas with the carter's, we decided to head to clemson so that marcio could see clemson. afterall, half of the gifts that he received had something to do with clemson. haha! he had a ball! when he saw the stadium, he said, "oh my gosh, i am going to cry. it is so beautiful!" awww! he didn't, but he almost did. he'd never seen a football field before...how appropriate that the first one he sees is memorial stadium! YEAH!picture moments at littlejohn...
"matteo, can you pick this lock?"
we went back to mom and dad's that night to eat dinner and spend the night. the next morning was breakfast at cracker barrel to celebrate matt's 28th birthday! it was great! ben and tami and olivia were able to make it too, so that was a real treat to get to see them! after breakfast, we headed back to ralph and regina's to hang out and go visit chris, julie, and their new baby, jack! he is a DOLL! he was sleeping like a log and was not impressed enough by our visit to wake up and say, "hi", but that's okay. he needed his rest! haha! congrats, chris and julie!!
we went back to mom and dad's for dinner and to hang out. amy and russ came over so it was great to get to be with them. the boys played playstation for the rest o' the evening. we woke up the next morning with the project of packing up the element to head home. booo! :( funny how we didn't need the roof rack on our trip down, but we did need it to come home...thanks to scout and her robbery of toys r' us via all the family! HA!
so we had a WONDERFUL trip! oh, i forgot to mention...on the way home, marcio told us that he wanted to look into coming back to the states and attending clemson in the fall...and maybe playing soccer (which he's amazing at!). so maybe there's a soccer scholarship out there for him. that would completely rock!
oh, and here are our christmas decorations this year. we just did a tiny bit since...
A) i didn't have the energy and/or desire to put up a full-fledged tree...and then have to confront scout everyday on pulling all of the decorations off of it and live in fear that it would end up on top of her little body.
and B) especially since we weren't going to be home for christmas
so here were our decorations...
the light strand, in addition to providing holiday cheer and a lumious glow, doubled as a christmas card holder. ingenious, huh?
and here's our tiny tree. it's 2nd christmas in the carter family. i guess it's our "away from home" tree now. haha!
so, here's to a late christmas post! hope you weren't kept in suspense too long! bwhaha!
today is kaylee's 6th birthday! she is all about some horses and enchanted forests and barbie princesses...soooo, here you go, kaylee! since you can't really visit an enchanted forest, i faked it for you! but that's our little secret, right? hehe! i hope you have the best birthday that you can imagine! have fun at your party tomorrow and i'm sorry that we can't be there! but we will be thinking of you and praying that you have an awesome time! we love you, little miss thang! :)
our christmas weekend continued...
so after we went to church sunday morning, we headed to mom and dad's for lunch and to spend the rest o' the day. traditionally, we do all of our christmas on christmas eve night with the smiths, and christmas day with the carters, so it works out nicely.
mom fixed a killer mexican lunch! it was great! after sitting around for a little bit, stephen decided that he wanted marcio to open up one of his presents early (we had told them that marcio loved football when they asked what to get him for christmas). so, marcio opened up a sweet clemson football and went absolutely bonkers over it. it was hilairious. he loves football, but had never touched one before. he said he would love to play in brazil, but they don't sell them in the stores, nor do his friends even want to play the game. so now he can go back to brazil and convert the unbelievers! HA! so matt, stephen, and marcio went outside to throw the football. matt showed marcio the basics of how to hold it and throw it. marcio launched it! matt said he couldn't believe how well he could throw. later on, i went out and threw a little with them. it had been at while since i threw a football a few years ago at thanksgiving (Thanksgiving 2 years ago). it was a fun, but i stunk.

we exchanged gifts that night. matt and i made family trees to give...one for mom and dad, and one for stephen and holly. they were pretty cool. here's a visual...
we framed them in oblong horizontal frames, so they looked pretty sweet if i must say so myself. we were missing a good bit of info, so hopefully we can fill in the gaps along the way, update the file, and just make new printouts.
so, we had a great christmas evening at mom and dad's with all the familia and marcio. here are some pics i stole off of marcio's and holly's cameras since mine is toe-up...ha!
marcio and scout with her new "cheese!" smile...
mom and the girls. sunny wore that princess outfit ALL day! it was a hoot!
mom getting tickled while scout makes a snarl...
passin' out the gifts...
dad bustin' out the cookies getting ready to give scout a taste...she is eyeing them! ha!
me and matty strikin' a pose...
scout munchin' on her cookie with papa...
holly sportin' her new clemson stroller from mom and dad for baby sophie!
so after all the fun, we packed up and headed to the christmas eve service at brushy creek. and it was great to be back after missing it last year since we were in st louey. it was nice seeing lots of faces we hadn't seen in a while. we even saw jacob and trisha who, of course, had just returned from yet another adventure...this time, Vancouver...it was great seeing them, even if i was jealous of their recent ski trip! haha!
we went back to ralph + regina's to spend the night. scout was a little anxious to open her presents, so aunt ange let her open one from her since she was giving her 27 more the next day. HAHA!
as you can tell, she loved it! it's the softest non-animal animal you've ever felt. too cute! thanks, auntie ange! :)
stay tuned for christmas day...
